Special times for this show are as follows:  Saturday February 15th the times are 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday it runs from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The aquarium, on Kalakaua Avenue across from Kapiolani Park and the Honolulu Zoo, is just a few minutes walk from most of our vacation rentals units.  The closest units would be the Foster Tower, The Seashore, the Pacific Monarch, the Waikiki Park Heights, the Waikiki Lanais, the Waikiki Skytower, and the Cabana at Waikiki.   It's a great place to visit after a swim or snorkel and you can bring a picnic lunch for the family and eat in the park before or after visiting the show!

This is Hawaii’s largest koi show featuring hundreds of top-quality koi for purchase or just to enjoying seeing.   There are also educational seminars, a variety of authentic Japanese performances and activities for kids and the whole family to enjoy.

Live entertainment for the weekend-long event includes Japanese Koto music presentations.

Koi are the national fish of Japan.  This show will teach the local community about the rich Japanese heritage here in Hawaii through the beauty of the art and the biology of Koi.  This will also serve as a cultural bridge between the East and West.  It's another way to have fun with the family and learn something great about our island and the island of Japan at the same time.

In the meantime, check out this video we made of the aquarium.  It's in the next blog post.
