Posted by Unknown | Thursday, April 3, 2014

This Saturday and Sunday, April 5th and 6th, check out the family friendly event Hawaii Ocean Expo near Waikiki at the Blaisdell Exhibition Hall on Ward Avenue.   There will be a fishing tournament with a final weigh in at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.   The whole family can learn exciting things at the Ocean University featuring organizations such as NOAA.  The booths will teach about ocean safety and awareness with demonstrations and information on how to protect our oceans for future generations.

It's not far from our vacation rental units at the Ala Moana Hotel, the Ilikai Hotel, the Ilikai Marina, and the Waikiki Marina, and many others.   There is flat rate parking at the Blaisdell and it's on the bus line, number 19 or 20.

There will be an area on boating, too, with all the latest and greatest in boating accessories, safety equipment, gadgetry, and electronics.  While you look around there is a Fun Zone to keep the kids busy and entertained.  There will be many exciting activities they can choose from, including jumping castles, fishing games, face painting, ocean tattoos, and much more!

Bring an appetite to try delicious food including Poke from Fresh Catch in the area called Seafood lane near the Beer Garden.  Then check out The Surfers Closet which is one of the LARGEST surf sample sales in all of Hawaii.  ALL the major international and local brands are participating in the Surfers Closet, selling men, women, children apparel, bags, hats, and more at below cost prices. All the brands that your favorite pro surfers and skaters wear will be on sale for you before they have even hit the stores.  It's a great way place to find that special gift for someone back home or a souvenir for yourself!
