Special occasion restaurant in Waikiki
Posted by Unknown | Wednesday, December 25, 2013

Some of you traveling to Hawaii to stay with us in one of our vacation rental units might be here celebrating a special occasion and looking for that special place for dinner.  I always recommend Michel's at the Colony Surf which is located on Kalakaua Avenue, ocean front on Diamond Head.
If you make reservations at around 6 pm you can request an ocean front table and watch the sunset.  If it's a Friday and your reservations are around 8 pm you will be able to see the Fireworks off Waikiki!
This restaurant has won "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" for "Most Romantic Restaurant in the World" for over 20 years.  The food is excellent and there's no formal dress code.  It's just a short distance from the Waikiki Sunset, the Waikiki Banyan, the Cabana at Waikiki, and the Royal Moana.

I was recently taken here for my Birthday and this dessert was given to me at the end.  It was a special end to a great meal.  I had escargot (which are delicious and the best I've ever had), raw oysters on the half shell (also absolutely delicious and I'm very picky about raw oysters), then we shared a delicious filet mignon and French onion soup.  The don't mind sharing plates at all which was great because I can never eat a whole entree by myself and then we can share appetizers, too!  Be sure to tell Phillip Shaw (The manager, and a personal friend) that I sent you so that he can make sure your night is extra special! -Linda
