Oahu Heart Walk this Saturday, October 4th, in Waikiki, Hawaii
Posted by Unknown | Wednesday, October 1, 2014

For those of you planning a stay at one of our Waikiki Vacation rentals there's a great event happening this Saturday, October 4th, that you can join in and raise funds for a great cause from a mobile app on your phone.  It's the annual Oahu Heart Walk and it raises funds for the American Heart Association.  You can join with over a million people in over 300 cities across America who are taking action to put a stop to heart disease and raising funds to help save lives.  Cardiovascular disease is now the #1 killer of all Americans and this weekend you can do your part to help change this statistic plus have a great time and get some exercise in beautiful Waikiki!

After you book your vacation rental with us, you can start fundraising with a mobile app for your iphone or android device that can be downloaded from the AHA website.   It uses your contacts to tell your friends on the go and invite them to participate with your event.  Plus it has custom made messages for Facebook and Twitter that you can use to keep your friends in the loop as to your progress.

The event will happen at Kapiolani Park which is just past the Honolulu Zoo and across from the Aquarium.  It's just a few blocks from our Waikiki vacation rentals at the Cabana at Waikiki, the Waikiki Banyan, the Waikiki Sunset, and many others.  It's free to just join in the walk but you will get a free t-shirt with raised funds of at lease $100.  Funds raised help local lawmakers on issues like menu labeling, health programs, and directional signage of AED equipment in public places that can save a life.  What a great family friendly way to get some exercise to burn off the calories eaten at great local restaurants like Cinnamon's at the Ilikai Hotel
