Duke's OceanFest this weekend in Waikiki
Posted by Unknown | Tuesday, August 12, 2014

This Saturday, August 16th, is the start of the annual Duke's OceanFest in Waikiki

The event is a 9 day tribute to the "Father of International surfing" Duke Kahanamoku.  The festival ends on August 24th which would have been Duke's 124th birthday.

Come down to the beach for this family friendly free Oahu activity and watch the Lifeguard competition, Wounded Warrior Canoe Regatta, beach volleyball, surfing, stand up paddle, one mile ocean swim and surfboard water polo athletes compete for prizes and titles.

Most competitions will take place near Queen's Surf and there will be exhibit booths fronting the Duke Kahanamoku Statue in Waikiki near our Waikiki Vacation Rental units at the Seashore, the Foster Tower, the Pacific Monarch, the Waikiki Park Heights, and many more.

If you are hungry, the official restaurant is Duke's Canoe Club which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner! I always get their fresh fish which is healthy and delicious and if I'm not too full their Hula Pie is the perfect desert to share.  It's an office favorite! Here's a photo of all of us at Alii Beach Rentals at lunch recently. Yum!
